Catching up!

A lot has changed over the past six months. In my last post, Harrison had just turned three and we were enjoying all of the quirks that come with a three year old. Well since then, we have traveled, celebrated a new birth (our new cousin, Brady), taken on a new job (Mommy is now the children's director at CLC), and enjoyed life together as a family. The kids are growing and are more beautiful than ever. Harrison is learning scripture and praying in public. Kate is learning new words everyday and is such a joy! Jeremy continues to work so hard to provide for us and I am so proud of him. So for now, I am not going to post a lot of literature for you to read rather I am going to be proud that I was finally able to sit down and post a few words about my beautiful children and family! Enjoy!

Harrison is Three

On April 18th, my handsome little man turned three. He is so amazing. I love being around him. He has a full vocabulary and speaks very clear and sometimes I forget that I am talking to a three year old. He is very helpful and has a sensitive heart. He loves people and is such a giver. I am so proud of him. I pray that these gifts that I am already recognizing in him will grow into greater depths as he ages. My prayer for him is that he recognizes the love that he has for others comes from the love that His heavenly Father has for him. What a blessing he is to my life. Here are a few pictures from his birthday party. Here is the birthday boy opening his presents at our house! He was so thankful for his soccer ball!
Yummy Cake! I love cake!
I love Chuck E Cheese!

Kate is One!

We had Kate's first birthday party at our house on Sunday, March 29th. It was a beautiful spring day that turned out to be a lot warmer than the 52 degrees that most meteorologist predicted it would be. Since Kate is not old enough to request a specific theme, I decorated the house in garden party attire and we got our backyard ready for a lot of visitors. It was perfect! Kate enjoyed her cake and her presents. She especially enjoyed getting in her presents. We had a such a wonderful time with all of our family and closest friends. Now on to planning the next party for Harrison who will be three in two weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.

Happy Birthday Kate!

My baby girl will be a year old on March 31st. Oh how the time has flown. What a blessing she has been to our family. God knew that we needed a daughter to show us the beauty in all things. She loves people especially her brother, Harrison. She loves to explore new foods (even the ones that you find on the ground). She loves to do anything that Harrison does including wrestling, drinking from sippy cups and straws, and dancing. And boy can she dance. She loves to play to guitar with her mommy and she loves to sing. She is such a joy to be around and people love to be around her. So happy birthday my little one. You are such a blessing to me!

Playdates at our House

Each week, I host a play date group for some of my friends that are stay at home moms in the area. It is a good way for me to socialize with other friends as well as give my children interaction with other kids and adults. Since Valentines day was coming up soon, we decided to get together and make Valentines. It was so much fun!

Here are a few more photos of our friends making Valentines.

Felicity is into her work and Owen is taking a break!

Braxton and Brycen are enjoying the automobiles!

Ariana is enjoying her Valentines!

Kate is taking it all in!

Happy Valentines Day!

Finally!

Okay.... So it has been a very long time since I blogged. A lot has happened in the nearly two months that I have sat down and written anything. You would think that since my occupation is to take care of the home and our children, that I would have the time to blog. Well, I hate to admit it, but I have not accomplished supermom status yet. I admit, that though I would love to be able to sit and share all the wonderful things in our lives, I find that "me" time with two small children is virtually nonexistent! All that being said. Here are a few of our latest accomplishments:
1. Harrison is now potty trained!
2. Kate has two teeth and is eating as much real food as she can get her hands on.
3. Daddy is selling insurance like crazy and is still working like crazy at the church!
4. Mommy is finally taking guitar lessons and is getting pretty good at it!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Wow! I cannot believe that another Christmas is almost here. This is now Harrison's third Christmas and Kate's first. We have received so many blessings this year. How great is our Father's love for us. It seems that no matter how grim things have looked for us, God has always clothed us, fed us, sheltered us, and protected us. I am in awe of His graciousness and His goodness. I was recently reading a book on Mary, the mother of Jesus and was struck by how humble Jesus' birth really was. He wasn't born in a palace with all the finest of the things. He was born in the lowest of all places... an animal stable! My king was born to a simple girl and a carpenter, but had eternal royalty running through his veins. I look at my two adorable children and am brought to tears just thinking of how much God loves us. He sent his perfect son to dwell here on this earth with all of this imperfection. He gave love from heaven. What an extraordinary gift!

My children remind me daily of how much God loves us. Each smile, boo boo, and yes even tantrum, teaches me how to love like my Father. I hope this Christmas, Christ brings a smile to your face and a joy so unspeakable that your heart has no choice, but to overflow into the lives of the people around you. Merry Christmas!

Oh... and here are a few of our first Christmas pictures. Enjoy!
